Recipe: Peachy Green Smoothie
My CSA has been receiving tons of peaches this season, thanks to the bountiful harvest from our wonderful fruit share farmer (sometimes it pays to pay in advance!)
In addition to freezing them, I’ve been finding ways to eat them at almost every meal.
If you’re ever in Brooklyn, visit Wilklow Orchards on their Greenmarket farmer’s market days:
Tuesdays, year round
Brooklyn Boro Hall
Thursdays, May thru December
Brooklyn Boro Hall
Saturdays, Year-Round
Brooklyn Boro Hall
Ft. Greene Park
They’ve been a Greenmarket staple for over 25 years.
This smoothie is perfect for breakfast or to give you an energy boost before your workout.
2 cups fresh (pitted) or frozen peaches
2 cups spinach
1 banana or 1/2 cup plain yogurt of your choice (I use a banana)
1 cup milk of your choice (I use vanilla or original hemp milk or almond milk)
1 cup ice
I throw all of this into my Vita-Mix at once, in the order listed (peaches on the bottom, ice on top), but if you don’t have one, you may need to add the spinach first and puree or liquefy it so that it’s broken down as small as possible, and then add the remaining ingredients.
Also check out my peach basil (or basil peach) sorbet unrecipe.

Hi, Melissa,
Thank you, for you smoothie recipes. I cannot wait to try them with as soon as my Vita-Mix Deluxe 5200 arrives. I am looking forward to making my own superfoods and sharing them with others.
Thank you, again
